The United States government is spending nearly $800 billion in stimulus spending under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Nearly $150 billion of that is being invested through the Main Street Economic Recovery report.
But where is the money really going? With the data available in lists, it can be hard to understand the local ramifications of the economic stimulus. However, there is a wide variety of information available on the web about where the stimulus is going -- and bringing it into a map lets you see information about where these things are really going.
Using multiple data sources -- from the MSER report, to KML feeds, to Flickr photos, to newswire feeds -- it is possible to build up a better understanding of the 'where' of the Economic Stimulus. Find the projects near you, build up a map of interesting information, and save it to share with others.

The Chicagoland area includes dozens of projects, creating thousands of jobs across the suburban area. This map shows the projects, and includes the data from the How are you delivering on change? project. |
Windmills are starting to spread as common sources of alternative energy. Many of the MSER projects are around exploration or utilization of wind power as a new Energy source. This map combines these projects with photos from Flickr to give a sense of wind power progress across the United States. |
